Traditional publishing is expensive and controlled by the agendas of large publishing houses who dominate the industry and market space with seemingly unlimited resources. Based on the state of modern fiction (especially YA fiction), their agendas are obvious—and ungodly.

The self-publishing space is dominated by popular companies who give authors affordable options for marketing, printing, and distribution...but whose policies are as corrupt as their company values. Through ever-changing royalty, SEO, and marketing policies, these companies also do everything possible to make sure their agendas control what books get seen.

Anistemi Publishing was started and initially funded by Carlos and Janie Barbosa in 2023 because they wanted to help their own daughter remain free from these systems and be supported in use of her creative voice to publish worthy books that encouraged readers (especially young readers) to love what God loves. They quickly discovered that many more young authors needed help controlling story elements to convey truly Christian themes and the same help to stay free of systems that strongarm them into hiding their light. As the Barbosa family prayed about how to help more authors, God got involved and brought along other professionals invested in the mission of raising up young authors who will boldly and skillfully spread the good news through fiction that is Christian in nature, whether explicitly (i.e., The Pilgrim's Progress, Chronicles of Narnia) or implicitly (i.e., Pride & Prejudice & The Lord of the Rings).

100% of donations go to young Christian authors. Publishing & marketing a book takes resources. Donations help us to:
